Novak Djokovic clinches his 90th victory at US Open. Djokovic is now the sole individual to have won 90 matches at all four Grand Slam events, as reported by mediafax.
Djokovic defeated his Serbian compatriot Laslo Djere, who withdrew in the third set of their second-round encounter.
Djokovic, a four-time tournament champion and vying for the record 25th Grand Slam title, was leading 6-4, 6-4, 2-0 when Djere retired, according to AFP.
The world number two is now the only man to have won 90 matches at all four Grand Slam events.
„It’s not what we want to see when there’s a withdrawal. Laslo had an injury that took him out of competition for a while and he struggled to come back,” Djokovic stated.
